Wow!! It's January nearly February and we are spending sooo much time outside....with NO coats!!! It's just nuts!! But we are LOVIN it!! This weekend the kids and I met up with Billie, Blayre and Peyton for some park time.
Playing house or restaurant or something but they were taking orders and making soup and Colt was some kind of animal??!!

Even Billie got into the playground action.

So the cock eye smile has turned into this crazy half smile??!! The kid is hilarious!!

A Christmas Story.....Part 3

Our third and final Christmas celebration happened on New Years. Dad wanted an ugly sweater contest so we all came prepared....Here we all are showing off our ugliest. Let the opening frenzy begin!!! It's like a mad house...paper flying, kids screaming, nana handing out more and more, parents trying to pick up paper....madness!! I guess when you're young you don't think of it like that cause there were 8 cousins when we were all young and it seemed so cool and calm then. :)
Who wouldn't love these two???Dylann just slept through the entire thing.....oh to be a baby again!!Riley definitely got her baby Dilly time in. She was LOVIN her some Dylann and wanted to hold her and wanted to feed her and she needs her binky and someone get her some covers and mom she probably needs her diaper changed.....thank goodness we will be having none of that at our house!!!4 Generations of Allen women....priceless!!Nana and one of her girls.

And then there was punch and things just got nuts.Champagne cups were clinking and held high....People were takin their shirts off....Wahoo was played.....Red mustaches were grown....Wahoo was won.....OH YEAH...Champs 2011!!And then they crashed!!! A Christmas Story....Part 2

After opening our presents from Santa we cleaned up and headed to Pampa for Christmas with the Moores.

We started the fun off with an annual story from Mimi.

Listening.....sort ofTrying to avoid the camera.Addison played Santa and passed out all the gifts. The girls got American Girl Dolls that look like them.And Colt got new boots!!! If you're wondering about the Spiderman costume. He got a box of super hero costumes Christmas morning and wouldn't wear anything else!!!This is Debbie having a minor melt down when we thought Gregg's new Ipod got thrown in the fire.....we did eventually find it. Just a small Griswold moment.Stephanie wearing a stocking cap I knitted for her. Mimi with the grands. After MANY attempts of Mimi trying to get Riley to have "coffee talk" with her she found her a "coffee talk" companion. Can you tell by his face that he's already had 2 cups??!!! No naps for him that day!!We even got snow Christmas day in Pampa!! Can't remember the last time I had a White Christmas??!!Mimi cooked it up for us and my waist line is feelin the pain now!!! UGHHHHHThe girls of course made gingerbread houses. Colt wanted NOTHING to do with them.

We had a great time in Pampa.....spoiled, stuffed and sent home!!!

For PROGRAMS!!!! We started off our Christmas season with our church program. Both kids performed this year (if you call sticking your tongue out (Colt) performing??) Here is the moment he saw us for the first time. Notice he's trying to get that tongue back in his mouth!! He didn't sing a bit but he stayed up there so that counts for something right??Then it was Riley's turn. We had to sit kind of far away so that Colt wouldn't see us right away so my pics are not so good. She sang her little heart out and spoke loud and clear on her poem.....even though we didn't practice a lick, sorry Mrs. Harrington!!And our annual Daisy and Riley picture. I've been taking this very picture since they were 2 or 3....whenever their first year to perform was, 2 I think. They are growing up so fast!!!And the girls wanted to add a funny face to the yearly tradition. I can't wait to whip these out when they are seniors in high school!!!Then it was on to the school progam. Again we sat too far away and the camera just doesn't zoom that well. She has a great class and they are did so well. They sang a lot of songs and motions to go with all of them. Mrs. Spray (the music teacher) is doing a wonderful job!!!
Sign language to "One Small Voice" it was so cute. They sang it last year too, it's such a good little song.

I got to take some pics this weekend.....no nothing new but this was kind of like a REAL photo shoot!!!! OOOOOOO!!!! Since Santa hasn't been here yet I'm just using a free photoshop website called Picnik. I think it does a pretty good job....for FREE!!!

Running and Eating!!

Great combo right!! Well I finished my second and LAST half marathon!! I beat my previous time by 10 minutes and met my goal of not walking....so that's it for me!! THAT'S IT!!! DO YOU HEAR ME FRIENDS.....DON'T ASK ME TO DO ANOTHER ONE!!!!!! Not sure if I'm dancing or what here, but it certainly doesn't look like running!!!FINISHED!!!!! Can you tell I've ran one of these before??? I'm being sure to look right at the camera at all chances!!Kate and I finished about 5 seconds apart....she beat me. Those little legs can move!!! So one week later and not an inch ran....I ate myself into a frenzy!!! THANKSGIVING!!!Our first Thanksgiving as one big all grown up family. Sniff Sniff. And we had to cook....well Mom did most of it.I made all the kids shirts....LOVE PINTEREST. Wish creeping pinterest and making the things I like could be my full time job!!! I would be President of the company!!!!The back of the shirts had tail feathers but of course none of them would pose. Of course we had a hospital trip and of course it was my kid!!! We thought he had broke his nose after taking a dive off the scooter and meeting the curb. Kids as young as Colt don't really have a nose bone yet so luckly just shifted around some cartlidge and he will be fine!! Still pretty bruised, scabbed and swollen....but he'll live to see another curb I'm sure of that!!!Then we did some photos.Nice or.......Naughty!!!!!

So thankful for all I have and looking forward to celebrating the rest of the Christmas Season with family and friends!!!!

Man my blogging skills have been horrible lately!! With all the Roughneck Roses orders (I'm not complaining, love that everyone likes our stuff and feel blessed to be making some extra Christmas money) and 1/2 marathon training (again feel blessed that I'm able to run), work, house work (which my husband has really been picking up my slack in a major way) kids, church, oh and Pinterest....I'm finding NO time to do much of anything else. This weekend is Leia's baby shower (oh yea did I mention I've been making things for that as well), Alpha Gamma fundraiser and the half marathon so there goes a few less things to worry about.

Halloween 2011

Yes I know it's been FOREVER!!! Blogging the rest of the year is going to be tricky but my goal!!! We had a great time trick or treating at home this year. Riley is really getting into and loves to run up to the house...ALL OF THEM. Colt on the other hand hit about 5 and then he needed some milk...surprise, surprise, surprise!!

This year I took another stab at making costumes. I really wanted to do Ragedy Ann and Andy but neither of them were havin that!! So while we were looking at patterns Ri picked out a poodle skirt....how hard can it be??? Well pretty darn hard when you have NO IDEA what any of the sewing lingo means!!!! Wow I need a class or a teacher in a bad way!!! It turned ok...except for the waist, but hey it stayed on all night so that's all that matters!!! Colt went from wanting to be Buzz, to being Bumblebee (the Transformer) to being Woody. All were costumes that we owned so I really didn't mind the everyday change ;) Riley kept informing me that she was too pretty to take a picture with a cowboy and insisted on taking pictures by herself....where does she get this stuff??And this cowboy insisted on wearing his own boots, his own belt (over the costume) and bringing his gun.I asked Riley to pose and this is what she did???!!! Seriously where does she get this stuff??!!And Bubs had to swing from the pole just like Riley.We even caught up with a few friends while trick or treating. Notice the slight costume change by Colt.....from good hat to farmer hat!!!!They brought home TONS of candy and had even more fun serving the "customers" that came to our door!! Hope everyone had a great Halloween!!!

I'm not real sure what I can say about this woman that most of you don't already know! Aunt Debbie is like a second mother to me. She's been at every important event in my life and probably decorated for most of them. She is caring, she has drove to Stillwater picked me up and taken care of me for the weekend when my parents couldn't be there. She is giving, I once asked for one can of formula and she bought me 10. She is loving, well just look at the picture she gives the best hugs. She's funny, we can always plan on laughing so hard we cry when she tells us the story of the ghost (aka her whistling nose) while in the wheat field at harvest time when she was younger. I could go on and on about this lady but all I really need to say is I love you and I hope you have a wonderful WONDERFUL day because you Aunt Debbie are truly amazing and I feel sooo blessed to have you in my life!!!

Yes I know it's been FOREVER but I've been busy I tell ya!!!! Anyway a few old pics that I had downloaded and ready to post but never got to it. Soccer started and is almost over...Riley is doing soooo much better this season and has even scored 3 GOALS!!!! So proud of her!! Here are some pictures from her first game. She's had a few guests at her games Mimi and Aunt Steph came along with Brooklynn and Cashion. Nana and PopPop are here this weekend. We are hoping for more GOOOOAAAALLLLSSSS!!!!!

I'm usually very against window clings but this year I let the kids put them up in remembrance of Betty Jo. They love seeing them and are reminded of her.

State of a FAIR!!!

Pun intended!!! HAHAHAHA!! We went to the state fair this weekend and I think I'm still in a fried food coma! First on our list of fun things to do....Toy Story 3 on ice!!!Like everything she does this is the way she started the show. If you remember a few years back she spent 3/4 of the show like this, at least this year this only lasted about 10 minutes!!We were soooo excited that Lori and Nate got to come up.As you can see it didn't take long till she was dancing and singing in her seat!!The show was pretty cute. They had all the main characters Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, Buzz, Andy, Rex, Ham, Slink Dog, Lotso, the Army men, Barbie and Ken, Mr. and Mrs. Potatoe Head, Aliens, the only one not there that my kids asked about was Big Baby....He was out of town Riley informed me??We all had a blast and for a 2 1/2 hour show the kids were GREAT!!!Thanks Nana!!! We love you!!!

More pics to come.....you know I took like 200!!!! We also helped celebrate Boston's 3rd birthday and Riley had her first soccer game last weekend!! Wow it was busy!!! I'll post about all of that don't you worry!!! Ta Ta for now!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Apparently it was a labor just to get my Labor Day pics online!! Geez come on now!!

Anywho....we had a great long weekend. Friday night Riley performed at the football game in her very first cheerleading routine. Uggghhhhh I can't believe I just wrote that!!! I've said it before and I say it again, God is punishing me!!! I asked Riley this summer to go to basketball camp and just the words made her cry. What am I going to do if she wants to be a cheerleader FOREVER???!! I'm sorry Annie, Katie, Kristin, Kandace, Leslie, Hilary, and all former cheerleaders that may read my blog I love you all dearly and I think you all are awesome athletes. I've seen the things ya'll can do....flips and jumps that I could never in a 100 years do. But....ya'll know I need that physical sport contact!!! I need someone to yell at ;) Ok off my soapbox for today....My pictures are out of order so you can see the cheerleading pictures at the bottom, or maybe I did that on purpose without really knowing it. :0)

The rest of the weekend was spent in Pampa having some good times. Carriage rides, face painting, yard work, camping in the backyard, and good ole family time.

Addison and Colt are pretty good buds. She spoils him and he loves on her. It's a perfect combo!!

This was a train ride through the park and let me tell you they were movin!! I told the kids to get the back 2 carts that they would be the ones movin the fastest.

Camping in the backyard with PawPaw. Addison and Colt were the only 2 to make it all night until it started raining on them and they had to go in around 4am.

Then came the yard work. And a nature walk with Mimi.And now the cheerleading pics.I will say that she was very sad that this summer she didn't' get to play t-ball and we have started soccer back up this fall. She's really enjoying it so far so I'll keep my fingers crossed that basketball will come soon!!!We even got to play with Cash at the football game!!! We were VERY EXCITED and so was he I think!!!

Just a little warning....don't be expecting too many posts in the up coming weeks. Every free moment I have will be spent crafting!!! Fall A Days is October 21st-23rd and we have a lot of work today to fill TWO BOOTH spots!!! Thank goodness we've already had a few people want to add somethings to our booth spot!!! Last weekend the carnival was in town...The Pride of Texas!! Yes the Pride of Texas was in Oklahoma?? I said we weren't going to go, for 2 bracelets it costs $50!!! We can go to Frontier City for that!! It's just craziness! But Saturday evening Gregg and Riley went to play golf and Colt and I were hanging at home when I get the call from Riley asking if we could go to the "carninal" aka carnival. My response of course was "Is your Dad paying for it???" It was already 9:00 so instead of getting bracelets (since they close down at 10) we went for 30 tickets for 30$, good right??? WRONG!!! Each ride was 3 tickets A PIECE!!!! Are these people nuts!!! The carnies are banking!!!!! So 5 rides later and 20 minutes later we were done!!! WTH!!!???? I'm still in shock!!! The kids enjoyed that 20 minutes, I guess. Colt kept asking "Give me nother ticket Momma"

That afternoon was cloudy and cool so I decided to take the kids out to the field station for some pictures. I got some pretty good ones I think. These 1st few I haven't had a chance to edit. I would just like to add if anyone every wants to buy me a gift....I'll take Photoshop or a 50 mm 1.4 lens or 20mm wide angle lens.....just sayin!! :) This is Colt's "Superhero" stance.

And yes it seems I should just give up on the basketball dreams cause she's probably going to be a cheerleader or on the dance team!!! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN??!!

Finally back to some Colorado pictures. Day 4 brought us to the Budweiser plant for a tour and some samples!!!! All the cans of beer going through this place.....it was an amazing sight!! How fast and how precise it all moves. AMAZING

This might have been Gregg's favorite thing about the trip.Startin young!!!You cannot even begin to imagine the amount of beer in this place....well I guess you can I mean that is what they do!!The famous Clydesdale....These things are huge!!!Just to get an idea the top horseshoes are for Clydesdale the bottom horseshoe is for a regular horse.......BIG DIFFERENCE

Enjoying our samples!! Each person on tour got 2 big samples of anything that Bud makes and 2 small glasses of their specialty beers, which had a much higher alcohol content. To say we were feeling pretty good after we left..is an understatement!! CHEERS!!!

What's been goin on.....

Just a short break from the Colorado pictures to get some updates on our everyday life. As you all know Riley is now 5 and as of today in Kindergarten. Well I, make that we, think she should be riding a bike with NO training wheels!! Who's with me???!! So each night we have been going out for some lessons. How long do these lessons last you ask?? How about 20 minutes!!!! Yes that's right!! 20 minutes (maybe) till she's so worked up and nervous that she can TRY no more, 20 minutes (maybe) till Gregg or I are so worked up and MAD that she won't even TRY!!!

So here we go.....

We can barely get her to pedal the dang thing!!!

Wow look at that she's doing it...1 second, 2 seconds, 3 seconds...oh wait Dad doesn't have me, and she stops pedaling and loses her balance.

I need a break....my legs are too tired.

Colt: Look Momma I free!! I wanna big bike.

And this is normally how the lessons end. Not well!!! Gregg and I so mad that she isn't even trying and her crying cause her legs are just too tired and "I can't do it" She does not get the concept of practice.....AT ALL!!!

So on to better days!! Well maybe not better....I had to take the kids in to get caught up on some shots. This is Riley's arm 2 days later???!!! Not sure what to make of this...but like my mother says

"Poop, you'll feel better."

Today Riley started Kindergarten and Colt (well actually yesterday) started Boomer Kids Club. Riley woke up bright and early with no help, up and adam she was.

"I going to miss you Wiwey? Gregg also starts his second year as a early childhood PE teacher. Pray for a better year!!! Can you see the excitement in his face!!??

Some breakfast to get the day going. And no I didn't make K shaped pancakes....Thanks Whit for making the rest of us look like horrible moms!!! ;)

Day #2.....FINALLY

Sorry guys! I know ya'll have just been dying to see what day 2 held for us in Colorado, I've just been soooo darn busy lately ;)

After Dad and Mom took Scott, Lori, Nate and Cash to the airport to fly back home and I finally recovered from a chocolate covered coffee bean (GROSS by the way) or maybe I finally adjusted to the altitude...I'm not sure what it was but I was pretty sick the entire morning. I like to blame it on the coffee bean because Lori made me eat the coffee bean and I like to blame things on her. That's what youngest sister are for, right?? Right Leia?? ;) Anyway, all coffee beans and blame aside, we went to a Rockies game that evening. IT WAS WONDERFUL!! Not one single drip of sweat ran down my back and into my butt crack all evening long!!!! HEEAAAVEN!!

If you know my family at all or if you just know my Dad, or me, or Leia you know that we are all about the concession stand foods....ALL ABOUT THEM!!! I hate going to ballgames, fairs, carnivals, or circuses without my Dad. Dad gets one of everything...food that is. I'm not exaggerating here people. One of EVERYTHING!! Just take a look at these pictures. We started off with hot dogs and nachos.....of course!!Then we moved to cotton candy...one for each of them. Because boys can't have pink and girls can't have blue!! Duhhh guys!!Kettle corn anyone???Then someone hit a home run....and it got to loud. Who's kids are these anyway???Oh maybe cheering isn't that bad.....We had AMAZING seats, probably the best ballgame seats I've ever had!! 17 rows up from the field. Just awesome!!I simply LOVE this picture!! The love that Colt has for his Pop Pop is just crazy.
Oh, so obviously, you have to add ice cream to the list of foods we had that evening. Gregg and Dad sat half the game in another section so I really can't tell you what all they had to eat, what you see here was just what Pop Pop got for the kids. Oh and Riley had a snowcone!!! Father and son enjoying a ball game....priceless. Day #3 on the way!!!

Day #1 Part 2 The Top!!

Ok so still on day 1....After the waterfall we headed up the mountain to play in the snow and hit up the gift shop....of course!!

On the way up we made funny faces......what else would we do??

Oh yea that's right the altitude started sitting in and I started getting sick!!! Blah!! Me and altitude take a day or so to be friends. Once the headaches, nausea and nose bleeds subside I'm good to go!!! Hey at least I didn't' pass out this time!!!

Anyway back to good times!!

The boys were having WAY TOO MUCH FUN!! Notice the scratch next to Colt's eye. Of the 4 kids that were there for a week guess which 2 got hurt??? Yes that's right Colt had multiple new scratches and bruises and Riley has one really big gash on her leg that probably needed stitches, but instead we'll just let it scar....I mean everyone needs a good scar! These bruises, cuts, scraps, broken bones, mystery infections have nothing to do with the supervision you are giving my kids...it's JUST HAPPENS!!!

Anyway back to GOOD TIMES!!After getting to the top and doing some shopping at the gift shop we headed back down to find the perfect snow. On our way down we saw this herd of Elk from the road so once we stopped we started hiking to see if we could get a closer look. When I say the scenery was beautiful that is a complete understatement and these pictures don't do it justice AT ALL!!! It was absolutely breath taking. The kids and I had to stop and say a little prayer and thank God for the beauty he had created for us to enjoy. Not sure if you can see the elk in this pic, they look pretty small. I bet there were close to 50 elk just grazing, laying down, and walking around. Absolutely one of the most magnificent things I've ever seen!!I set the camera on a rock and made a run for it. Turned out pretty good, could use some cropping so you can actually see us. Wish Leia, Spence and baby Dilly were there to make it complete!!The hike back UP the mountain was not near as enjoyable as the hike DOWN the mountain. Sorry about the pictures..I couldn't get my vertical pictures to rotate for some reason?? At our next stop we checked out these 2 beautiful lakes that were buried in the mountain. I'm not sure how you got to them, but again BREATH TAKING!!! I would give anything to get down to them. Oh and yes it was chilly, like 53 degrees on top of the mountain. But it felt GREAT!!! Standing from this overlook you could hear the running waters and winds coming off the mountain. I could of stayed there all day!!! The kids on the other hand didn't even get out of the car!!

Day #1, Part 2 the Bottom

Well looks like I took soooo many pictures I'm going to have to break this into 3 posts, Day #1 Part 2 the Bottom and Part 2 the Top!!!

So the second part of day started at the bottom of the park of Estes Park. Beautiful green trees and an amazing waterfall!! The water was a bit chilly, but it was sooo nice outside we didn't even feel the need to cool off!!! Nate was still a little pooped out from the horseback ride.And of course the boys ran straight to the water....didn't take them long to discover the water was FRREEEZING!!Riley decided to watch the boys from the bridge. Smart girl!!And up the mountain we went....and went....with a few falls on the way...but we kept on.....and on....till we finally reached the top.And then it was time for some family pictures.And down we came....and off to the BIG TOP!!!

One COOL vacation!! Day #1, Part #1

And I mean cool in many different meanings!! The weather was cool, the scenery was cool, the tours were cool, the food was cool, the shopping...you guessed it cool!! We can't wait to get back, especially with temps staying above 100 degrees here in Woodward...ugggghhhh!!!

The kids went down early on their very first plane. I was pretty nervous for Riley, seeing as how she tends to freak out.....A LOT!!! But they both did great!! Well besides the fact that Colt had a mild case of the GAS!!! Hahahaha!! Thank goodness he sat with Aunt Lo!! ;)

They both were very sad that we weren't flying back and after about 5 hours in the car with them I was very sad!! Really they did pretty good in the car for 9 hours, it was their Dad that had a hard time!!! Anyway back to Day #1...we met up with the rest of the crew at my Dad's favorite little pizza place in Estes Park. Estes Park was beautiful!!! I'm not sure if it was the views or the cool weather that made me fall in love instantly!! I'm telling you I DIDN'T SWEAT THE ENTIRE TRIP!!!! After pizza we headed over for horse rides. The kids LOVE this, this actually was their 2nd horse ride since being in Colorado. I think they would go everyday if they could...well I know the boys would. Riley on the other hand had a little bit of a traumatic incident the ride before. Her horse took off on a little bit of a run the day before....of all the kids and all the horses it would have to happen to the one that would freak out the most!!Waiting for horses. See the forced smile here?? Right before this she was crying and had a panicked face!!Cash is an old pro!!Nana and Colt rode double, for 2 reasons; 1. he fell asleep during the last ride and 2. he would have NOTHING to do with Gregg or I!! I'm surprise we got him to come home at all!!! He was LOVING his time with Pop Pop and Nana!!!Nate got to ride his own horse for the first time and he was VERY excited.....until he fell asleep WHILE riding!!!And my handsome "cowboy".....And we're off.....And about halfway through Nate was OUT!! Dad had to hold him up. Hahahaha!!!

The trail ride was nice but his old lady could NEVER be a cowgirl. My knee was killin!!! I'll save the horse riding for special occasions only!!

We had a pretty busy day so I'll leave the rest of the day for a Part 2 post tomorrow!!

Well as most of you know I've lived in NW Oklahoma most of my life. I can't even begin to count the number of times I've driven by the Cherokee Trading Post, but never stopped. Well we stopped this past weekend....and honestly they've got some pretty good stuff in there!!! The kids LOVED all the Indian stuff and they even have live buffalo...how exciting!! ;) A friend tipped me off to the good cowboy and Indian stuff inside and with Cash's cowboy party coming up we decided to stop. Riley thought all the statues were pretty neat...Colt was not too sure about them right off the bat. I'm not too sure this is the proper way to ride a buffalo but we had spent all week at the rodeo and this is how the cowboys rode the bulls and I'm sure that buffalo buck??!!
But he warmed up.....we all warmed up cause it was 111 degrees outside!!!

"Hold it right there...I'm the sheriff in this buffalo riding town!!!"

So I think I got a few good pics of the kids. Can't wait to print these off and see how they look!! I bought a really cheap photoshop type online program called Picnik, you can use it for free but for a really cheap price you can get all the benefits. I think I caught the boys' personalities to a T!!!

I didn't get a good one of Riley with her cowboy hat on but I'm hoping to take my kids out this week and get some of them so maybe I can talk Riley into a cowboy hat pic.

Love this one. I was able to put a texture to it, I think it makes it look pretty neat.

So today there's no pictures....weird right??? I'll have tons of pictures by the end of the week don't worry. Today I'm just feeling like sharing some random thoughts. Everyday I read my favorite blog EVER, The Pioneer Woman, whom by the way, will be starring in her very own Food Network cooking show this fall. I'm VERY excited, she's from Oklahoma, she uses normal ingredients, I just love her and she gives away the best stuff. Well I think it's the best I've never actually won...anyway.. Today the question to answer to register for her give away is

"If you could have dinner with one person throughout the history of time, whom would it be."

A lot of people answered this very intellectually wanting to share dinner with presidents and authors, with great humanitarians, Nobel Peace Prize winners, people that I probably should know but don't. I answer this very easily and child like....My Grandpa Wayne. My Grandpa past away the August (I believe) before I got married. He was one of the first people that I wanted to call and tell that I was FINALLY getting married, he was pretty sick by the time Gregg finally asked and I wanted to be sure to tell him so that he would understand. I know that my Grandpa is watching down on me but I just wish that my kids could of met him, and I know that someday they will. I watch my kids everyday and think oh how my Grandpa would of loved that. Grandpa use to call me "Hollywood" I'm not really sure why but I'm certain that he would call Riley his little Hollywood too. The way she dances and sings and puts on shows he would of adored her (the way he adored all his grandkids and great grandkids) And Colt well I watch him make these funny faces and tease his sister and it just reminds me sooo much of Grandpa. I miss him very much and every time I look down and see a penny on the ground I know it's him watching over us.

Ok so enough of the sadness. My next random thing is and I posted this on Facebook early but as I'm sitting here, STILL STARVING, I asked the question again. Why is it that when I eat an apple I feel more hungery than before I ate the apple???!! I'm trying to be healthier but you're not helping me out here fruit!!!

We went to the rodeo last night....had an awesome time and can you believe I didn't bring my camera??!!! UGGGHHH That makes me soooo mad. Anyway we'll be back and I've already got my camera in my purse!!! Oh and the rodeo clown was pretty darn funny!! "This is as confusing as a Walmart checker saying over the loud speaker, Jose to the front please." Hahahahaaa!! I couldn't believe it and I laughed out loud!!

I'm soooo over this heat...can I get an AMEN??!!! I went for a run this morning at 6 am and at 8 I was still sweating!!! I had to blow dry my hair twice this morning. That is just wrong!!!

Ok so I guess I'm done for now. The time of year where it couldn't be any hotter (well that's been all summer long really) and my kids want to be cowboys and sit outside every night and watch the rodeo....or radio as Riley likes to call it. We talk horses and we talk boots, we talk about how Uncle Scott use to be in rodeos and why he's not in this one. Every year the rodeo is kicked off with the Chain Ranch and a cattle drive, very exciting stuff even for one of the nation's friendliest towns. Yes that's right Woodward, OK is in the top running for America's friendliest town check us out http:ontheroad.bestoftheroad.com and search Woodward. Impressive stuff for our little town!! Anyway back to the rodeo......I took an early lunch so I could bear the heat with the kids and they could be cowboys...or at least watch cowboys for a short time.

Last night I FINALLY got Riley talked into a mini photo shoot and of course since I was asking Riley to pose then Colt wanted right in the mix. Anyway these pictures are really for my Mom. The red dress that Riley has on was given to my Mom by her Grandmother when she was little,

**Nope I was wrong it was given to her by her Great Grandpa Sterba, who called her his "Little Papoose" Pretty sure that makes the story better!! Thanks Aunt Debbie and Gigi!**

Mom's been wanting pictures but Riley was never willing....imagine that!!

Anyway here ya go Mom!! I especially like this one. The bench that she is standing on is from my Great Grandma Sterba's house, which is who got the dress for my Mom. Really neat I think... Next weekend I've signed up for a FREE photography workshop in Alva!! I'm pretty pumped!! I hope to learn lots!!!

Now I'm not certain that this is Sally...but how many ducks have a cowlick???!!! Riley thought it was her anyway and that made her very happy :)We had a little park time this weekend...yes even in this heat. I mean seriously could it get any hotter?? This is just ridiculous!! Please someone remind me of this insane heat when I'm complaining about the cold.....I'll quickly shut my mouth!!!

We decided to take advantage of the new paddle boat dock out at Crystal Beach. The kids loved it and really it was a pretty good workout for 30 minutes. I'm thinking I should run from my house (1 mile) paddle boat for 30 minutes then run back home....sounds like a great workout to me??!!

Their 4 man boats were all broken so Gregg let us ride and he would take pictures....what a gentleman!!

Yes it's true I take a A LOT of pictures and though it may annoy you now, one day you will be glad!!!

This 4th of July like every 4th of July since I've been with/married to Gregg we headed to cabin. What was different this time you might ask.......we brought our kids!! Normally we make this an adult only weekend and try to act like we are 23 again, well times they are a changin!!! That change didn't take away from our fun, it just helped us make some new memories.....that include our children and not speedoes ;)

As soon as we got to the cabin swimming was a must!!!

My parents gave us this when they moved....."THE MEGASTATION" Cabin lake+The Megastation = tons of fun!!! Here we are all waiting for the launch..... Oh if we only had this 7 years ago the fun we could of had......the Megastation comes with built in coolers.....if you catch my drift!!!

The next day we loaded everyone up and headed to the Travertines, a bit crowded for my liking when it comes to lake swimming that is. Thankfully Colt was ready for a nap and a snack (of course) by the time we got there so Steph and I "had" to take him back ;)

I'm telling you that Colt could probably win a contest for "Who can make the most funny faces." This kid has 100 of them!!!We went Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner.....the last time I was there I shook Chuck Norris's hand...this time we got balloon animals!!! And the food was just as good as I remember it!!A guitar for this guy.A hat for Addro And bunnies for the twins!!!

ONce again we had another amazing weekend this summer, but to be quite honest......I CAN'T WAIT FOR A WEEKEND OF NOTHING!!!!! And in just 3 weeks we will be headed up to Colorado for our first visit to Mom and Dad's new house!!! Can't wait!!

Our Family Vacation

We decided about midweek that we would plan a little vacation for the 4 of us...mainly fun stuff for the kids. Gregg got online and found out that the circus was in OKC so 4 tickets was the order, he got us a hotel room and I mentioned White Water...so away we went!!!

Our first stop...Texas Roadhouse of course!!!

And yes we looked like big ole nerds having the waitress take our picture.....she offered!!!

Always such the Daddy's girl!!!And such the Momma's boy!!!Next on our list of fun stuff to do was the CIRCUS!!!!Before the circus actually started they had a meet and greet kind of thing. We got to go down and get close and personal with the clowns and performers!!! Colt and I went down to check it out, homebodies Gregg and Riley stayed and watched from above!! I don't remember what he just saw that made him sooooo excited!!!!

Or maybe he was faking it for the camera??!!And then the show began!!

I think the elephants were our favorite, they put on quite the show!!The clowns were pretty cute too.I mean who doesn't love elephants and dogs in the same show??!!After the circus was over we headed down to the canal for a boat ride. On the way we stumbled on this fun little waterpad. Probably the kids favorite part of the night. It was super hot out and this made for a good cool down. On we went....Walking the canal and chasing the ducks. Well Colt chased the ducks, the ducks of course chased Riley and she cried!!!Waiting to get on the boat.We finally made it. Colt loved it!!! He waved to the people and sang songs for everyone. Riley had fun but was not as excited, she was feeling a bit tired and hot. After a good nights rest we got up, had us a big breakfast and headed out to White Water. The kids had a blast!! Riley rode a few big slides as long as we could ride with her, although I think she would have really loved them all if she would have just tried them. Colt was ready for all of them, unfortunately his little bottom wouldn't stay in the tubes. All together we had a WONDERFUL weekend!!! Can't wait to do something fun with just the 4 of us again!!! I sure love my little family and feel soooo blessed!!!

actually a little late on Riley and a little early for Colt, so I guess actually Happy Birthday Party to you!! This year Riley again wanted a swim party so we had to put it off for a couple of weeks. We had to push it so far back we just decided to have Colt's party too!! We had a really great time, the kids invited people that I love to hang out with (well the parents that is). It was WAY TOO HOT, so hot the icing on the cupcakes (that Leia, Lori and I made by the way) started to melt, so hot that the kids wouldn't even play on the playground, so hot I couldn't even eat....oh wait that's not true!!

Just look how red Riley's face is and that's not because she was running and playing none of the kids would play cause it was just soooo darn hot so we had to get right to the presents.....Colt NOT being a good sharer!!The kids were just foaming at the mouth to get in the pool!!! They only had to wait an hour, but that hour seemed like YEARS!!!FINALLY time to cool off!!!!and then time for more eating!!!Notice it's all Allen grandchildren around the picnic table still eating, Colt is on the other side. Hey we know a party is nothing without food!!!Once the party was over we headed back to the house to give the kids their big gift from Nana and PopPop and Gregg and I........

Oh how I wished I had it on video!!! Colt let out this scream for about 10 seconds!!! And Riley ran to the truck!! They haven't got out of the thing since they got it!! We've driven around the block I don't know how many times in the last 2 days and we are sure to have a dirt path through our front yard where Riley drives for hours!!!We of course had our first wreck with in 15 minutes of getting in. She ran right into the basketball post!! As you can see Colt's ice cream broke and got all over him and the car and Nate who was in the back bumped his check....and Riley's driving pride was cut deep!!! The truck was not even scratched and Riley has since learned her lesson to PAY ATTENTION!!!

Well there is our weekend in a blog nutshell!! This weekend we are headed to the Circus in OKC so we are sure to have another busy one!!!

Wow what a weekend we had!!! Company, Red Dirt Challenge, water park, church, and a birthday party.....yep I'm pooped!!! And all the fun started on Wednesday....the kids and I loaded up and headed to Orienta to meet Gigi and Aunt BB for a hand off of Nana and Cash. We rushed home so I could get in some DQ before my weekly softball, in which I didn't get a hit all night...uggggg...I need some hitting lessons, but that's another post!! So with Mom and Cash added to the house that was Gregg's cue to hit the road, and so he headed to Pampa to help Debbie repair the fence at her house. Nana now was able to spoil the kids anyway she felt fit and she started out with a slip n slide.....Cash was taking a nap and when he finally woke up Colt let him know about it!!Saturday morning I had to get up extra early because for some reason I talked my friend Robin into running this Red Dirt Challenge with me!!! UGHHHHH why do I sign up for this crap, which reminds me I never posted about the OKC marathon.....Man my mind is a mess today, focus Lacy focus!! It was hot and I am NOT in good enough shape to be carrying on in this way!!

Now please notice the way that Robyn is "prancing" up to the mud pit.....I strategically waited 10 seconds before the shot gun start to tell her that we had to CRAWL through the pit, she thought we could tip toe through.......No chance!!! I couldn't wait for that cool water!!! I am definitely a cool weather runner!!!We even ended up winning our age bracket!!! Which surprised me cause Robyn ran/rode very well....I on the other hand SUCKED IT UP!!! and I mean big GASPING, THINKING I'M GOING TO THROW UP OR PEE MY PANTS, (which by the way I did have to squat in the bushes about half way through!!) SUCKING IT UP!!!Later that afternoon after I showered, the kids had a nap and Nater Tator arrived we headed out to the Water park for a good ole time!!! I know I have a lot of pictures of Colt and Nate in this section of the post, but I have never laughed so hard!! These two were all over the place...laughing, running, screaming, splashing they had the best time!!!

Cash will NEVER let me take a good picture of him!!! I have to bribe him and obviously that didn't work this time!!!

Riley just finished up 2 weeks of swim lessons and boy what a difference!!

Riley picked out these glasses for all the kids, she thought they were great the boys on the other hand not so much!!

I'm hoping not to duplicate too many pictures here and on Facebook and I have more pictures that cover the birthday party but I don't want anyway to get overwhelmed. So there's part 1 of a wild weekend!!!

Finally getting to my Z and in the end of the vaction. We (well all of us but Gregg that is) had a great time!! It wasn't exactly what we thought but it was soooo fun. We all thought we were signing up for a few nice canopy ziplines where we would casually make our way through and above the trees......HA!! WE SIGNED UP FOR THE BLUE STREAK which consisted of one fast steep zipline and a 100 foot free fall, yes like a bungee jump!!!

Well we didn't do much this weekend. The kids and I headed to Edmond to spend a couple of days with the Lairds. We had a great time, as usual. It was really hot and the neighborhood has a pool so we spent a few hours there everyday.Of course we had to have snacks while swimming.

The rest of the time...well we spent doing this.......They put some serious miles on the cars!!!We had a silly time together...

And poor Bub kind of had a rough weekend. Did a face plant off the scooter and scraped up the forehead and his left eye. Then later at the pool he somehow cut and bruised his right eye.

And we did a lot of just plan ole relaxin!! Thanks Leia and Spence for letting us invade. And thanks Leia for the fine cookin you did!! Oh and baby Dill Pickle (for those of you that don't know Leia is expecting!!! And Cash has named the baby Dill Pickle) is doing great too....

Well this was the weekend before.......when you're in Pre-K do you really celebrate the last day of school??? Riley did tell me this morning that she was NOT going to Kindergarten and that she wanted to stay in Pre-K and Mrs. Hawley's class. Anyway we had our first outdoor swim of the summer last weekend.....it was soooo nice!!! I love summer and pools and lakes on the other hand I hate swimsuits!!!

My baby bug is growing so fast!! I CANNOT believe she is 5.....it just sounds crazy!! Riley decided last year she wanted a swim party but never got one cause she broke her arm so again we are aiming for a swim party. And since Colt's birthday is the 1st part of July we are going to do a double party mid June. What a fabulous idea Lacy!! ;) So for her "real birthday" as she calls it PopPop and Nana took her out for breakfast before taking her to school, after school she chose to eat at Pizza Hut?? Yes that's right Pizza Hut over Mcdonald's!! YEESSS!!! Blayre even got to come with us!! Hoorah!! That's a party all in itself!!

Oh that Dad he is just soooo funny. She is such a Daddy's girl!!!!

When we got home she blew out candles on a cupcake and we did sing Happy Birthday to her. Then she ate the icing and left the cake??!! The next day she picked out cupcakes to take to school and got to be the helper and leader all day. That's pretty important stuff!!

Well Ri another year down and you still feel my heart everyday!! You are still loving to dance and sing. You started soing flips on the monkey bars and trying to do flips on the trampoline. You love and hate your brother daily. You love to wear "pretty" clothes and refuse to wear sweatpants (this one still baffels me??) You are finishing up your first year of school and have made a lot of friends, you get birthday invites every week. You tried soccer this fall and hated it at first but grew to really like it and are ready to play next year. I asked you just last night if you wanted to go to basketball camp and you freaked out (I hope this changes soon)!! You love to do homework and your teacher Mrs. Hawley says you are a good student (I hope you keep that up). You make us laugh everyday with your funny songs and silly faces. We love you so much Riley Bug!! Happy 5th Birthday!!!

We had family, we had recitals, we had baby showers to host....I'm still in a bit of a haze.

I started the weekend off with a HEFTY visit to Walmart, everyone's favorite place (especially in Woodward!!) Then I got busy on shower and food prep for the weekend. Saturday started pretty early had to fold the mountain of laundry that Gregg so kindly washed but didn't fold, finish some food prep, get Riley fed and ready to be a dance superstar by 1:30. Once we finished the recital it was home for some swimming, mazzio pizza, diaper cake making and cheesy potato prep. Finally in bed by 1:00 am and up early to get lunch ready, my car packed with mounds of shower stuff and out the door for me by 12:30 to sit up for the shower......I'm tired rethinking it all.

Do you ever feel that you need a weekend from your weekend??!!

On Sunday I helped host my good friend Katie's 1st baby shower. Carmen Jo is due August 3rd and I just can't wait to meet the little lady.Everything turned out so cute. Katie's sister in law did a great job planning and getting super cute decor. I even got to make a new friend in Ashley. I'm very excited that her and Riley have moved to Woodward. I see lots of fun times with her!!

My family didn't get to come to the recital because Lori graduated from college!!!! Yeah for Lori she even did it with honors!! Super proud of her!! There will be a lot more recitals but only one college graduation!!

All of these flowers are transplants, don't worry I wasn't placed on a donor list and my yard didn't depend on these flowers but I was worried about them rejecting their new host for awhile. But not anymore!!! They are LIVING and now my yard does depend on them each year. What makes these flowers more special than the ones that I spend WAY too much money on every year??? They come from the heart, they come Gigi's and my Great Grandma Pearl's (via Aunt Debbie's) yards. The beautiful Peony, my most favorite flower of all times!! They are so light and airy looking yet so heavy and sturdy. And these came from Gigi's house a couple of years ago. For about 2 years they didn't have a bloom and I worried. Did I plant them in the wrong place? Am I watering too much, not enough? What is the problem?? Last year they (I have 2 plants) had about one flower a piece. This year they have blooms all over!!! They are so pretty and smell sooo good! I just love them and think of Gigi everytime I see them!!
The Violet. This is picture was taken early in the spring but they have such a pretty little purple flower on them while they are blooming and boy do they spread!! They have filled the spot where I planted them and now they are in the grass. Which usually I hate (especially my trumpet vine, ughhhhh) but not with violets, I love them, let them grow everywhere I say!! They are like a good time flower. These were given to me from my Aunt Debbie and they remind me a lot of her. The way they spread is like her love. It seems like my Aunt Debbie's love is never ending. She's like a 2nd Mom to me, I know that I can go to her with anything. She's sturdy and beautiful and ready for a good time just like these violets.

Pholox. Another transplant from Gigi's. I need something to cover some empty space under a tree and boy did these do the job. Whenever I see these I think of Gigi's house and how they covered her sidewalk around the side of her house. I remember pulling easter eggs out of them every year and watching her pull at them to get them off her sidewalk.

And the Iris. This is my favorite picture that I've taken with my camera so far. Again the iris comes from Gigi's. And of the flowers I got from her house this one reminds me most of her. The iris is strong, it's stands in the heat and withstands the winds. It's a beautiful deep purple and every year I have more. Just like my Grandma strong, beautiful (and purple is her favorite color), and every year she has more love to give. My Grandma doesn't have a lot of material things to give but when it comes to love it's never ending!! She never forgets a birthday and that goes for kids, grandkids, great grandkids, son inlaws, grandson inlaws, and granddaughter inlaws. She gives and gives whether it be her famous Captain Crunch cookies, chicken strips, laughs, her bed, flowers, hugs or love we can always count on Gigi!!

I haven't been to Aunt Rita's house in quite sometime :( but I know if she gave me a flower it would represent just as much love and happiness as these do. And my own my mother....really what can I say. She's given me anything good I have in me (and maybe a little bossiness, hehehe). She gives me unconditional love, support, strength, the truth, and a wonderful Nana for my kids.

So do you think I come from an awesome family???

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!!

UPDATE: Just a few minutes after I posted this I found out that the peonies from Gigi's were actually transplanted from Aunt Rita's!!!! So now I do have a piece of each of them right in my backyard!!!

So if you don't live here I'm sure you have already heard about the HORRIBLE wind we had on Friday. It was the strangest thing!!! It was like a hurricane without the rain!! People lost roofs, windows, carports, ducks....no not really we couldn't get that lucky!! Here a few pics of what was going on that day. Trees were down all over town!! That is not a temporary sign that is blown over.....it's a permenant HWY sign on 9th and Oklahoma.

We survived but our newly built fence didn't weather too well, it will need some repair. The ducks survived...yes I left them out during the rainless hurricane. I have to make them tough, they will be released into the wild this Saturday!! HOORAH!!! The rest of the weekend was BEAUTIFUL!!! Hope you had a great one!!

We battled ANOTHER Colt mystery illness!!!

On Friday I got a call from Colt's babysitter saying his eyes didn't look good. She didn't say I needed to come get him so I called Gregg and told him to take a look when he dropped Riley off and call me if I need to come get him. About 45 minutes later I got the call...."He's gross you need to take him to the dr." So I rushed over to get him...this was at 3:30 Friday evening. Pink eye was their diagnosis, they sent me to Wal-Mart to pick up some drops. By 6:00 that same evening this was my little fella........ What the heck????!!! I've never seen pink eye look quite like that. He couldn't open his eyes!!! I tried to open them for him so that we could get some drops in.....a light pink blood like fluid came out.....I panicked!! I ran to the phone and called my eye dr, yes it was 8:30 at night, thankfully my eye dr. is also a friend!!! Unfortunatley she WASN'T home!!! After I calmed and he calmed and Gregg calmed we decided to rub the cream on his eyes and wait till the morning. Thankful when he woke up Saturday morning the swelling had gone down and I was able to get his eyes open. We started hard and heavy on the gel.

Sunday morning Riley and I went to Sunday school and I was able to talk to Kristi (our eye dr.) about what was going on and show her pictures. She said "Nope that's not pink eye" Ughhhhh that stupid urgent care!!! She thinks it's a sinus infection so onto antiboitic we went.

By Sunday evening this was Colt.

And today, Monday, he's looking even better. Slowly but surely we'll get our non red eyed, non puffy, crazy little cowboy back.

The weather here has been on and off here.....as usual. We are trying to take advantage of the nice days seeing has how the very next day it could be 30 degrees or winds blowing at a lovely 20-30mph!! So here's just some fun pictures. Colt got these hand me down boots from Nate and for about a week and a half he wouldn't take the dang things off!! One night I had to pry them off his feet just to go to bed....seriously pry them off him kicking and screaming.

So most of you know I started a new job just about a month ago. It's going wonderfully!! I love it! It's so laid back, all the guys are super nice, I'm getting more and more stuff to do, I have my own office, it's so nice and new everything is just FABULOUS!!! The only thing I miss is having someone to talk to about...oh...Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor, American Idol, you know things like that.

Being the picture takin fool that I am here's a few shots. Unfortunately I don't think Bobby Alexander, Jeff Owen, or Carl Scott would be too pumped about me taking their pictures, Bryce Marlatt maybe, (I mean what politician doesn't want their picture taken!!) but he's never here!! Just kidding Bryce!

Anyway here it is......POWER RIG, LLC!!! Power Rig is my actual employer but they recently opened another company MID-CONTINENT CONDUCTOR, LLC so I'm also working for them. What does Power Rig do you ask.....they are a drilling company. They own 3 rigs and a 4th is being built now. Mid-Continent Conductor is a rat hole company......ummmm what they do is alittle tougher to explain but here is what I think they do....they drill the pre-hole for the big rigs?? If that's right or not I'm not sure but chances are the ladies that read this blog won't know either. HEHEHEHE!! The front of the office. That's my window on the right!!

Here is my attempt at artistic photography. HA!!The kids got these scooters for Christmas. Riley finally figured how to make it go without using her feet and it's perfect for Colt to use his feet. I'm counting down the days till the little things are big enough to take out to the park. I'm sooo not an animal lover!! Riley has named her duck, Sally (yes Sally I think after you. I heard her in room the other day singing "I'm Sally Luthi, I'm Sally Luthi") And Colt named his Quack Quack and then Riley renamed it Pinkie, cause it's bill is pink. I present you with Sally and Pinkie...Sally is in the back with the little cowlick and Pinkie, well she's the one with the pink bill.

Oh man it's been a crazy last 2 weeks. But I'm back.... I hope to get back to posting regularly, it's not that I haven't been taking pictures cause you know I have! I just haven't found the time to post any yet or really haven't felt the words to blog. And yes I know I'm not an amazing story teller! Anyway here's a couple of pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Gregg lost a younger cousin to a car wreck a couple of weeks ago and though that doesn't make for a very good visit....the kids got to meet some of their second cousins, and they had a blast playing with the twins....Abe and Alex. This is Abe with Colt.And this is Alex. They are both such good boys and pretty darn cute too!! We hope to get together more often.

The kids of course enjoyed the hotel pool and the elevator!!On our way we stopped at Mom and Dad's just to check on the place and to break the long trip up a little. Here is Riley giving her typical pouty face, I mean seriously could that lip get any further out there???And Bubba with his big smile....don't worry he can pout pretty good too.Riley got a tea set for Christmas from Mimi...sounds great......until the painting part comes into it. Well we finally got them all painted and got Colt talked into some other art project. This past weekend I went and watched Lizzy play in Regionals....they made it to Area (which is played in Woodward this week) so I'll get to go watch some more!!! YEAH!!!Oh and this little guy was there too, although he was cheering for the wrong team. Laken (my cousin Blake's son) He was soooo sweet, not shy at all like my two!!And we must not forget how AWESOME the weather was last week, oh I'm ready for Spring!!! Mandy and I were even able to run 5 miles outside on Saturday and it was great!I never can get Colt to jump right infront of me for pictures!!

Along with Gregg's cousin, I also lost a woman who was like a grandmother to me this week, Wynelle Meadows. Tara and I were instant friends and within a month and my first trip out to Bill and Wynelle's I was a Meadows!! Granny was so giving, loving, Christian and family oriented. It will be so hard to go over to their house and not head right to her tv room and get a hug and kiss from Granny. She will be so missed!!

Usually I'm all for the snow.....but not when it comes with freezing temps and 100 mph winds!! And especially not when those freezing windy days are followed by a beautiful nearly 70 degree day, it's like Mother Nature is playing a cruel joke on us, frankly I'm sick of her mean nature. Get over yourself Mother Nature!!

On a sad note Gregg lost a cousin this weekend to an awful car wreck. Please keep his family in your prayers. Kyle was a sweet, smart, athletic young man, just 27 years old and engaged to be married this summer. I feel such a pain in my heart for his family, please pray from them.

And remember to tell those you love that you do love them, because that chance could be gone in an instance.

Baby it's cold outside!!!

We finally were able to bare the cold!! Finally the temps are hitting in the 20s and 30s here in Woodward and it feels like a heat wave!!! Tomorrow is suppose to be nearly 50.....then Sunday more snow!! Love that OK weather. Anyway the kids finally felt like going outside and doing some playing. They got some snow gear for Christmas but I really didn't feel like bundling them both up for just a short play, we went with snowboots, coats, hats and gloves. It was getting late and I just didn't figure they would stay out that long....oh and I'm lazy!!! The pictures make it look like it was dark outside but it wasn't, I'm not that mean. Here's Riley having a good ole time on the trampoline and Colt not having such a good time....cause he wouldn't put his gloves on!!!Finally he put them on and it was all fun and snot from there on out.

Hope everyone is enjoying their time off.....cause we AREN'T!!! I'm pretty sure Woodward was the only school in Oklahoma that didn't cancel on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday. For those of you that went to school here that's no surprise!! Anyway I hope you all are staying nice and warm and safe!!!

Before I got my new camera I took A LOT of pictures.....well honey you ain't seen nothin yet!!! Just ask my family....no Leia you can't comment on that!!! I still really have NO knack for photography but I sure try!!! And maybe if I could figure out photoshop my pictures would look A LOT better. But how about Green pancakes and bacon???!!! As I was reading one of my new favorite blogs, well more like looking at pictures on my favorite blog, The Pioneer Woman (thanks Leslie BTW, love it!!!) I saw a picture of colored pancakes. Well with my childrens' love of pancakes in mind we went to work.

We finally finished up Christmas with a trip to Pampa...We had a great time, again ate TOO much, got too much but this time we DANCED too much!!! If you've got a Wii and you don't have it already I suggest Just Dance!! It is soooo much fun and it's the first game on Wii that Riley has really been able to do and that has kept her interest for any amount of time, she's really not a gamer ;) Anyway here are a thousand more pictures from my new and improved camera in which you really still can't tell I got a new and improved camera :( But I still LOVE it and still LOVE using it!!!

Hope you got some time on your hands.....it's going to be a long one!!! I'll start off with our Christmas at home. Here are the kids making cookies for Santa. Surprisingly enough they both had a fun time with this and they stayed at it till all the cookies were finished.

You have to taste test of course!!

And the finished product. They did pretty good....they love the sprinkles that for sure!!

On Christmas Eve we go to candle light service at our church. For some reason this year our church didn't have anyone in the nursery so I missed most of the service :( We also let the kids open one gift Christmas Eve.....Christmas pjs of course, so they would be super cute while opening gifts Christmas day!!

Gregg has made it a tradition to read them The Night Before Christmas each Christmas Eve. And off to bed they went.

I actually had to wake them up Christmas morning!! Riley told me she heard Santa on the roof in the night. She was very certain about this, it was pretty cute. My kids didn't ask for anything huge this year, but Riley was pretty sure about what she did want.....Cowboy boots, a Zhu Zhu pet and a Leapster. She must of been a pretty good girl this year cause she got what she asked for. Colt didn't do too bad either....a truck that makes a lot of noise, cowboy boot slippers (he has 2 pairs of real boots that's why he got slippers) and a zhu zhu.

I didn't do too bad myself this year!!! It was a very exciting year!!! Here is Ri and I in our matching outfits I made....hahaha Dorky yes I know but it's Christmas for crying out loud!!!

OH I forgot to post anything about Riley's Christmas party at school and since I was a co-chair I didn't really get very many pictures. But here's one.

RUMBLE CAME TO THE TOWN!!! The kids were very excited, riley woke up asking when we were going to see Rumble.....until we actually saw him and she hid her eyes for half of the show!!! Anyway here are some fun and not having so much fun pictures.

A Rising Star!!!

Big weekend here in the Moore household!! We had company, we had programs, we had program practices, we watched movies, we made gingerbread houses, we ate and we were just right down Merry!!! Riley and Colt had their church Christmas program on Sunday and Riley had her school program today. They had many admiring fans come to watch them.....to bad Colt would have NOTHING to do with the performance!!! The program was scheduled right in the middle of his nap time, I had to wake him to go and he was not havin it!!! We were all disappointed ;( Riley didn't let us down though. She sang her heart out for an entire hour!!!! Then again on Monday did a wonderful job. I'm so proud of her!!

And on to the school program. I don't know how she learned all these songs and all the motions to go with them. In the 2 programs combined I bet she sang 20 or more songs!!

I've obviously been feeling quite bloggy lately, updating nearly everyday.....it must be the season!!! This post I wanted to show you some of my favorite tree ornaments and Christmas decorations. I'm leaving my most favorite decoration out for another post because I think it's worthy of it's own blog entry and also because I don't have it sit up to my liking yet. ;)

On to the tree ornaments.....

The first is from my Aunt Debbie, she started a tradition oh a few years back (well more than a few since before I was married I think) where she gets us these wood painted ornaments with our name and the year on them. I love this almost as much as I love my Aunt Debbie!!! If I haven't mentioned it before.....I'm sooooo blessed to have the family that I do. Ornament #2...Mandy, Tara and I have been best friends for what seems like FOREVER and we decided a few years ago that instead of getting each other gifts for Christmas we would get one another a tree ornament. This has been yet another favorite tradition for me. I just love looking at my tree and knowing that it's filled with love and friendship!! This one was from Tara a couple of years ago, the true meaning of Christmas!!!
This one was from Mandy. I was pregnant with Riley at the time and received A LOT of prego/baby ornaments that year but this was by far my favorite!! HOW STINKIN CUTE!!!
This is one of the older ornaments on my tree. It was given to me by Lisa Allen my boss and really good friend when I was going to school in Kentucky. I loved it then and I just adore it now. Reminds me of what I actually liked about living in Kentucky....my job and the friends I made there!!!

This is the oldest ornament on my tree!! Given to me by one of my past boyfriend's mom. "Air Santa" it says on the back. Got this one when I was a freshmen in college, hard to believe I've held on to anything for that long!!! Still love this ornament, it was the first one that Riley pulled out this year and she thought it was pretty great too!!!

And finally an ornament from our honeymoon!!! Yes I got married in June and yes I was still able to find a Christmas ornament in June!!! Brings back a time of fun and freedom oh and running all over Disney World trying to keep up with my husband who was trying to plan the entire thing out and if you know anything about Gregg and mapping......he's horrible!!! Anyway it reminds me of our young new love!!!

And finally my Mom started this tradition with the kids 3 years back. Got them their very own nativity scene (in hopes of keeping their little hands of mine). Each year she sends them a different part. The first year it was the manger. The second year the wise men. This year the Inn keeper. I'm not sure what else is left?>?? I guess we'll have to wait and see!! Just look and see how cute it is and what a great way to teach the kids the true meaning of Christmas!!!

Let it Snow...Let it Snow...Let it Snow!!

Oh yeah we got snowed on yesterday!!!! I LOVE the snow!! If I could live just about anywhere it would be up in the mountains where it snows and where the wind doesn't blow....does that place exist?? Anyway the kids loved the snow, notice I say loved.....it's gone today!! With 55 degree weather the day following a beautiful snow fall we now have mud!!!

The first thing they do.......EAT IT of course.The second thing....jump on the trampoline.The third......throw it at you.The fourth....laugh when they hit you!!! Colt's new place to sit....on the fireplace next to the tree. He has pink eye if you're wondering aobut his blood shot eyes.

And I couldn't resist Gregg in his pink stocking cap!!! Hehehehehe!
